AMD Ryzen 3000XT Series CPUs, A520 motherboards, unveiled

AMD recently unveiled the Ryzen 3000XT Series, an addition to the brand’s 3rd generation of Ryzen processors and motherboards with the A520 chipset in the coming months. It also announced the worldwide availability of the AMD B550 motherboards.

The Ryzen 3000 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT, and Ryzen 5 3600XT are still based on Zen 2 architecture on the 7nm manufacturing process, but are capable of running at higher base and boost frequencies. They come with the same TDP and cache as the non-XT variants, with the Ryzen 9 3900 XT and the Ryzen 7 3800XT have 105W with a total cache of 70MB and 36MB, respectively. The Ryzen 5 3600XT, on the other hand, has the 95W TDP with a lower 30MB total cache.

The Ryzen 9 3900 XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT have a boost frequency up to 4.7GHz while the Ryzen 5 3600XT is rated at 4.5GHz. Moreover, the Ryzen 9 3900XT and the Ryzen 5 3600XT has a 3.8GHz base while the Ryzen 7 3800XT has a base 3.9GHz.

AMD is also releasing a new chipset for budget-oriented motherboards, the A520. They are compatible with Ryzen 3000XT processors out of the box.

The AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT, and Ryzen 5 3600XT are expected to be available in retailers worldwide starting July 7, 2020, for USD 499, USD 399, and USD 249 respectively. The AMD B550, however, is now available worldwide.

Meanwhile, the A520 motherboards, on the other hand, are expected to be released in August 2020, from board partners such as ASRock, ASUS, Biostar, Colorful, Gigabyte, and MSI.
