Nokia 1 gets an Android 10 (Go Edition) update

Nokia 1, the previous entry-level smartphone brought by HMD Global, now gets a software update.

HMD Global chief product officer Juho Sarvikas announced on his Twitter the rollout of the Android 10 (Go Edition) update in Nokia 1 to select Asian markets.

Among the Asian countries which will receive the update are the following: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

As a Go Edition device, the Nokia 1 now features a plethora of pre-installed and reimagined Google apps. The smartphone is expected to receive regular security patches and updates from Google.

HMD Global shared that by July 12, about 100% Nokia 1 users will receive the software update.

Launched in 2018, the Nokia 1 sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display. Running previously under Android Oreo, it is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core processor mated with a 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It has 5MP rear and 8MP front cameras.
