Last month, Cherry Mobile introduced the Cherry Ion Lite, the sibling of the Cherry Ion in a smaller package. Its purpose is to purify the air around the user’s breathing space by producing ions. Check out our hands-on below.
The Cherry Ion Lite Limited Edition comes in red which is a new addition to the Cosmic Black, Cotton White, Space Grey, and Rose Gold colors.
At first glance, it looks like a lipstick, with a narrow, rectangular form factor.
It’s got a single carbon brush at the top, as well as the hole for the lanyard.
The power button and LED indicator are on the front, while the micro USB charging port is at the bottom.
The device is made of plastic with a metallic paint job with a glossy finish.
It’s really light at 26g which is great considering that you’ll wear it outside.
To use, just press the power button on the front. The LED indicator will light up to let you know that it is operational.
It works just like the Cherry Ion and aims to protect the user from harmful airborne particles like viruses, allergens, cigarette smoke, pollen, and dust, by releasing millions of negative charged molecules or atoms called anions in the air. These particles get attracted to surfaces, pulling them away from the user’s breathing space.
While the Cherry Ion can emit 50 million negative ions, the Cherry Ion Lite can only emit about 20 million negative ions. The device can operate for 8 hours with a radius vicinity of 3 feet, suitable for enclosed spaces like in a room or a car. Charging, on the other hand, will take 1.5 hours.
Cherry Ion Lite specs:
Negative ions: 20 million anions
Power: <1W
Battery: 270mAh
Usage: 8 hours
Charge Time: 1.5 hours
Dimensions: 66 x 21 x 18mm
Weight: 26g
The Cherry Ion Lite is priced at PHP 2,300 and is available at Lazada and Shopee.
