Globe has recently added the coverage of its 5G network to more areas in Metro Manila.
Among the new cities to boast Globe’s 5G connectivity include Taguig, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Las Pin?as, Valenzuela, and Caloocan.
Postpaid and prepaid subscribers of Globe and TM living in the said areas may now enjoy 5G connectivity. Previously, the telco announced that new and existing prepaid SIMs support 5G network and launched 5G-ready smartphones under its postpaid plans. Discounts and introductory prices are available until September 30, 2020, via Globe’s online shop and stores nationwide. Meanwhile, the mobile prepaid 5G SIMs are currently available across all Globe stores, the online shop, and official dealers and resellers.
The expansion follows after the telco’s initial rollout of 5G connectivity in select Metro Manila cities, including central business districts in Bonifacio Global City, Makati City, and Ortigas in Pasig.
“We’re firing up our 5G within these cities’ select vicinities which are residential areas and centers of daily commerce. The deployment of Globe’s 5G is strategic as we’re targeting those main nerve centers that in the very near future would benefit greatly from the transformative power of better and faster connectivity,” said Globe VP for Strategic Platforms and Partnerships Coco Domingo.
Globe also urges 3G SIM users to upgrade to 4G SIMs for free by visiting the nearest Globe Store in their area. Meanwhile, mobile postpaid customers can request to have their SIMs changed via the GlobeOne App.
