Microsoft services hit by outage

Microsoft services have recently reported their service interruption globally.

According to the admin dashboard of Microsoft 365, users are unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services including Outlook.com, Microsoft Teams, Teams Live Events, and Office.com. Included in the affected services are enterprise applications Power Platform and Dynamics365 properties. However, existing sessions during the interruption were not affected. This means that any user who was logged in to an existing session would be able to continue their work.

Cloud computing service Azure also posted that customers in public and government clouds were reported to encounter errors performing log-in authentication on several Microsoft or Azure services. This includes access to the Azure Portals.

Microsoft’s 365 teams have identified the source of the issue and applied mitigation steps to recover the services. However, as tweeted by Microsoft 365 an hour ago, successful connections haven’t increased after the reset.

Based on the latest Microsoft 365 update on Twitter, the team is seeing improvement for multiple services after rerouting traffic to alternate infrastructure and applying mitigation steps. It will continue monitoring the services to ensure a full recovery.

Meanwhile, customers in both the Azure Public and Azure Government clouds should see signs of recovery. The next Azure update will be provided after an hour.
