The Department of Transportation (DOTR) has recently announced the arrival of the first batch of trains allocated for the LRT-1 Cavite Extension.
The first batch of trains for the extension project comprises 120 4th generation trains from Spain and Mexico. The project, which was 19 years in the making, connects Baclaran Station to Bacoor, Cavite. Approximately 11.7 kilometers, it will have eight more stations, namely Redemptorist Station, MIA Station, Asiaworld Station, Ninoy Aquino Station, Las Piñas Station, Zapote Station, and Niog Station.
The railway line is expected to connect Baclaran and Bacoor, Cavite in just 25 minutes. Currently, the travel time going to and from the mentioned places takes 1 hour and 10 minutes.
