Samsung to intro 90Hz OLED laptops in Q1 2021

Samsung has recently announced that it will introduce 90Hz OLED laptops in Q1 2021.

According to Samsung Display Chief Executive Officer Joo Sun Choi, the company will initially produce 14-inch, 90Hz OLED displays for laptops and notebooks with large quantities starting March 2021.

“OLED display panels can best satisfy the diverse consumer needs for laptops used in telework, online education, video streaming, and gaming,” stated the company on a release.

Samsung Display shares that the major shift provides more options to consumers in purchasing laptops with OLED displays. This means more vibrant subjects, more realistic, and snappier, allowing users to experience virtually seamless visuals. This makes gaming and content streaming more pleasurable than before.

Samsung Display also found that the image drag of 90Hz OLED and 120Hz high refresh rate LCD screens is 0.9mm and 1mm, respectively. Simply, laptops with Samsung’s 90Hz OLED displays also have up to 10 times faster screen response and comparable with 120Hz LCD screens.

Samsung also shared that it has partnered closely with global manufacturers to achieve its latest goal in displays.

The rollout of Samsung 90Hz OLED laptops is expected to begin Q1 2021.
