Xiaomi has introduced its latest innovation, the Mi Air Charge Technology wireless charging. This enables users to remotely charge devices without any cables or wireless charging stands.
The Mi Air Charge Technology is the company’s self-developed isolated charging pile with five phase interference antennas built-in. The company claims that the “remote charging technology” can charge multiple devices at the same time wirelessly. The technology of Xiaomi’s remote charging lies in space positioning and energy transmission. This technology enables the detection of the location of the smartphones accurately.
Moreover, for the smartphone side, Xiaomi has also developed a miniaturized antenna array with a built-in “beacon antenna” and “receiving antenna array.” Beacon antenna broadcasts position information with low power consumption. The receiving antenna array composed of 14 antennas converts the millimeter-wave signal emitted by the charging pile into electric energy through the rectifier circuit to turn the sci-fi charging experience into reality.
The Xiaomi remote charging technology is capable of 5-watt remote charging for a single device within a radius of several meters. Other than this, multiple devices can also be charged simultaneously (each device supports 5 watts) without affecting their charging efficiency despite having physical obstacles in the area.
Furthermore, the company mentioned that its self-developed space isolation charging technology would also work with smartwatches, bracelets, and other wearable devices in the future. Nevertheless, Xiaomi aims to turn its wide range of products to be completely wireless.
