MediaTek has recently launched its latest 5G-ready processors for smartphones, the Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100.
The Dimensity 1200 is a premium chipset for flagship smartphones. It consists of one ultra Arm Cortex-A78 core with up to 3GHz clock speed, three more Arm Cortex-A78 super core with a lower clock speed at 2.6GHz, and four efficient Arm Cortex-A55 cores. It supports 200MP camera sensors, 4K HDR video recording, and a 168Hz display with up to 2520 x 1080 resolution.
Meanwhile, the Dimensity 1100 with four Arm Cortex-A78 four Arm Cortex-A55 cores which records clock speeds up to 2.6GHz and 2GHz, respectively. Both are built under the TSMC’s 6nm process. It supports a 108MP main camera, 144Hz with 2520 x 1080 resolution, and 4K HDR video recording.
Both chipsets support every connectivity generation from 2G to 5G and save power, thanks to its integrated 5G modem with MediaTek’s 5G UltraSave technology. The chipsets also feature Arm Mali-G77 GPU. Both support True Dual 5G SIMs, MediaTek APU 3.0 for reducing latency and improving power-efficiency, AI-Panorama Night Shot, AI Multi-Person Bokeh, AI noise reduction (AINR) and HDR capabilities, AI SDR-to-HDR video playback, HyperEngine 3.0 gaming technology, ultra-low latency true wireless stereo audio, and LC3 encoding.
Moreover, the Dimensity 1200 has recently received TÜV Rheinland certification for its 5G performance.
The Dimensity 1200 and the Dimensity 1100 chipsets will debut on Xiaomi, Vivo, OPPO, and realme smartphones during the end of Q1 and beginning of Q2 2021.
