Panasonic announces Texcell-certified air conditioners with inhibitory effect on SARS-CoV-2

Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC) has recently announced its Texcell-certified air conditioners with nanoe X Technology confirmed to have an inhibitory effect on the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

The latest Panasonic air conditioners were certified by a global contract research organization Texcell. Texcell has verified 91.4% of the novel coronavirus’ inhibitory effect in the space of 6.7m^3 in 8 hours. In September 2020, Panasonic, in collaboration with Texcell has verified the inhibitory effect of the nanoe X Technology with the benefits of hydroxyl radicals on the novel coronavirus in a small test space of 45L using the nanoe X generator.

Furthermore, Panasonic has challenged to test using an air conditioner with nanoe X in a larger test space for further investigation. With this, Texcell has soon certified that the Panasonic air conditioner with nanoe X Technology has a 91.4% inhibitory effect on the novel coronavirus in the actual space of 6.7m 3 in 8 hours. This testing was executed in a closed laboratory environment and was not designed to assess its efficacy in uncontrolled living spaces.

According to Panasonic, this study update assures that Filipinos can get 24-hour cleaner and safer air indoors with Panasonic air conditioners. Panasonic air conditioners with nanoe X Technology have been tested in a 6.7m^3 space in 24 hours and got an inhibition rate of 99.7% on the novel coronavirus.

nanoe X is identified as a technology unique to Panasonic that accumulates invisible moisture in the air and applies a high voltage to it to produce “hydroxyl radicals contained in water.” Hydroxyl radicals inhibit the growth of pollutants, including bacteria and viruses. These are characterized by being strongly oxidative and highly reactive but normally have a short life span. Contained in tiny water particles, nanoe X has a long lifespan and can spread over long distances. It has been recognized to have an inhibitory effect on both airborne and adhered substances.

Other than the company’s Split-type Air Conditioners with nanoe X Technology, Panasonic also offers a portable solution: the Portable nanoe X Generator. The small device is also equipped with nanoe X Technology proven to inhibit harmful air pollutants and viruses.

Panasonic has started researching about nanoe TM Technology in 1997. It has verified its effectiveness in various areas, including inhibiting pathogenic microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, and viruses) and allergens, breaking down PM 2.5 components that negatively affect the human body.

Meanwhile, Panasonic aims to continue pursuing the potential of nanoe X Technology to address possible risks associated with air pollution, such as new pathogenic microorganisms, and to create healthy environments around the world.
