Apple just released the first iOS 16 public beta for testers. This means even if a user is not registered as an Apple developer, you can install it and try it out now.
The public beta for iOS16 is still rolling out, so it’s still not available to everyone, but make sure that your device is compatible (check out below for the compatibility list). But once available, anyone can try the new features in their iPhone in beta form. Aside from iOS 16, there’s also a first public beta for iPad OS 16, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and HomePod software 16 so we have more than a handful to try out in the beta version.
Some of the awaited new features from iOS 16 is the dynamic and significantly improved Lock Screen which a user can now have more control and customization options on their lock screen.
Next are the Messages in which a user can now edit a sent message or unsent a recent message, watch or listen with a friend while chatting in Messages, and more.
Another one is Photos, it has now an iCloud Shared Photo Library in which more than one person can now share photos in a shared library with live edits and changes that are synced to everyone.
Here’s Apple giving caution when trying their public beta:
The Apple Beta Software Program lets users try out pre-release software. The feedback you provide on quality and usability helps us identify issues, fix them, and make Apple software even better. Please note that since the public beta software has not yet been commercially released by Apple, it may contain errors or inaccuracies and may not function as well as commercially released software. Be sure to back up your iPhone or iPad and your Mac using Time Machine before installing beta software.
