The government’s fleet of vehicles providing free transport to healthcare workers around the metro just got a bit bigger as Pilipinas Autogroup (PilipinasAuto) has rolled out some of its modern Dongfeng PUVs to augment the lineup.
The company’s statement reads: “PilipinasAuto wishes to express its support and gratitude for the untiring sacrifices and dedication of all the frontliners. The company is committed to not only providing quality vehicles but also working hard towards becoming a responsible corporate citizen always ready to respond and contribute for the best of the nation.”
PilipinasAuto is one of the many companies participating in the government’s PUV modernization program. The Dongfeng units you see here are brand-new Class 2 and 3 PUVs that haven’t even been activated yet. The vehicles will cover two routes: SM Masinag-Philippine General Hospital, and SM San Jose Del Monte-SM Fairview. For both routes, the PUVs will pass by several nearby hospitals.
There are already a number of transport vehicles currently providing our frontliners free transport, but thankfully, the list just keeps growing. In fact, a transport cooperative lent out a couple of its units to the Department of Transportation only recently. These Dongfeng PUVs are the latest addition to the aforementioned list.
