Manila City now charges a flat-rate parking fee for all vehicles in accordance with the City Ordinance 7988 issued by the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau.
Approved last May 25, 2020, the ordinance establishes a standardized parking fee for all vehicles in the city. This allows motorists to park their cars for a maximum of 8 hours.

The new parking rates are listed below:
• Light Vehicles (sedans, SUVs, jeeps, motorcycles, and pedicabs) – PHP 50
• Medium Vehicles (van, all delivery trucks except 10-wheelers) – PHP 75
• Heavy Vehicles (bus, 10-wheeler trucks, other vehicles carrying heavy equipment) – PHP 100
In another Facebook post of the bureau, it reminds the commuters about the fare rates for tricycles and pedicabs. Passengers should pay PHP 20 for a 1 km ride plus PHP 5 for the succeeding half kilometer.

The bureau also encourages motorists to report parking attendants, as well as tricycle and pedicab drivers, who will violate the ordinance. Make sure to get the name of the parking attendant or the name of the driver and the body number of the tricycle and report it through the MTPB’s Facebook page.
