ASUS launched another batch of thin and lightweight laptops, the ASUS ZenBook S, the ASUS ZenBook Flip 13, and the ASUS ZenBookFlip S. All of which are all powered by Intel 11th Gen processors with Intel Iris Xe Graphics. Right now, we got our hands on the ZenBook Flip S. Let’s check it out!
As we all know, ZenBooks are known for their signature concentric design, the use of premium materials, all while packaged in a slim and compact form factor, and ZenBook Flip S is no different from the rest of the series.
The ZenBook Flip S has this patented circular brushed aluminum finish with the ASUS logo on it. ZenBook Flip S comes with the premium Jade Black color with copper-red accents on its sides. We didn’t like it because it shows smudges easily, especially on the lid-cover, which is hard to clean.
Found on the left side are the full-size HDMI and two USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 support to enable fast charging, 4K UHD external displays, and up to 40Gbps data transfers.
On the right is a power key with its own LED and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port. The ports are limited, but ASUS included a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter and a USB-A to ethernet adapter for the times these ports would be needed.
Found underneath are the stereo speakers, vents, and rubber feet to ensure the laptop will stay in place.
Upon lifting the lid, users will be greeted by the 13.3-inch OLED 4K (3840 x 2160) NanoEdge touchscreen display. Above it is the HD camera, an array of sensors to support Windows Hello, and the built-in array microphone with support for Cortana and Alexa.
The Pantone-validated OLED display lifts the viewing experience as you get deep blacks, punchy colors, good contrasts, and wide viewing angles. Make sure to regularly wipe the screen if you use it regularly as a touchscreen.
While traditional touchscreen laptops may not have that much utility, the 360-degree ErgoLift hinge allows you to take advantage of the display, whether that’s in watching movies or videos, taking notes, or reading through recipes as you prepare your meals. As with other 2-in-1 devices, the keyboard deactivates once you get past the 180-degree mark.
This keyboard has three levels of backlighting and is made from high-quality plastic with a matte finish. The keys are a bit on the small side, but it is quiet and has good tactile feedback. Key travel is also decent at 1.4mm.
Below the keyboard is a wide and smooth ASUS NumberPad 2.0 that integrates a full-size LED-illuminated numeric keypad into the touchpad for easy data entry.
The Harman Kardon-tuned speakers on this device deliver exceptional sound quality to complement the excellent viewing experience, despite the downward-facing speakers this device comes with.
The ZenBook Flip S is Intel Evo Platform certified, delivering on performance with its 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor with Intel Iris Xe Graphics for our sample unit, coupled with 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. Other aspects of this certification ensure that the 67Wh battery provides you the most battery life possible and ensures that you have the latest and the best connectivity options available to make your work faster and more effective.
The ZenBook Flip S (UX371EA) is priced at PHP 94,995 and is now available on ASUS Concept Stores and ASUS Official Lazada Store.
