Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G now official

Qualcomm has recently released its latest affordable 5G-ready chipset for smartphones, the Snapdragon 480 5G.

The Snapdragon 480 5G Snapdragon X51 5G Modem-RF System supports mmWave and Sub-6 GHz 5G networks, global 5G coverage, and Wi-Fi calling with call continuity between LTE and Wi-Fi. It is built on an 8nm process based on the octa-core Kryo 460 processor with a clock speed of up to 2.0Ghz. It also has dual Wi-Fi antennas to support Wi-Fi 6 with internet speeds of up to 9.6 Gbps, SA and NSA 5G modes, Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DDS), and Bluetooth 5.1.

The latest affordable processor from Qualcomm also supports Dual-frequency GPS and NavIC for accurate location positioning, FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rates, triple image signal processor through Qualcomm Spectra 345, 64MP camera sensors with up to 1080p at 60 fps video recording. It is also mated with Adreno 619 GPU and comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology and aptX audio for more immersive and seamless HD content streaming.

The first smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 480 5G  coming from Nokia, OnePlus, OPPO, and vivo will be announced in early 2021.
