Unioil now accepts PayMaya for cashless transactions

PayMaya has recently added Unioil to its portfolio of partner merchants that use PayMaya’s POS device, providing more cashless payment options for its customers.

Unioil now accepts credit, debit, and prepaid card payment options for VISA, Mastercard, and JCB cardholders through the PayMaya POS device. Under the partnership, the petroleum provider may also accept digital payment options such as PayMaya QR, WeChat Pay, and GrabPay.

The PayMaya One terminal is wireless and ATEX-certified, providing motorists a safe and seamless way to settle their payments. They don’t have to leave their vehicles to enter their PIN for their payment.

The initiative is part of the government’s mandate of public transport operators to adopt cashless payments to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus further.

“We’ve been doing our part to progress responsibly in the New Normal, and our partnership with PayMaya plays an important role in providing safer and more convenient payment transactions for both our customers and frontliners,” said Eduardo C. Pasion, Unioil Vice President for Retail. “By allowing us to offer multiple digital payment options both for cards and eWallet apps, we are able to serve our customers with the ease and safety that is necessary during this time.”

Currently, PayMaya has deployed Android-based POS terminals in major supermarkets, restaurants, service providers, and government agencies nationwide.
