Xiaomi reveals the launch date of the Xiaomi 12S series. The upcoming flagship smartphones will come equipped with cameras co-developed by German camera maker Leica.
Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, shares a photo of a rendered Xiaomi 12 S Pro on Weibo. This shows the Xiaomi 12 S Pro will have an identical design to the Xiaomi 12 Pro. One of the biggest factors for change would be the presence of the Leica branding on the camera.
Based on the official Weibo accounts of Xiaomi Phone and Lei Jun, the Xiaomi 12 S and 12 S Pro will have the same sensor as the Xiaomi 12 Pro which is equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX707., the upcoming Xiaomi 12 S and Xiaomi 12 S Pro will utilize a 50MP Sony IMX707 camera sensor.
According to tipsters, the Xiaomi 12 S Pro will have two variants – The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 model to have an 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB memory configurations, while the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 variant will not be available with 128GB storage.
