PayMaya and beep partner for contactless commuter payments

PayMaya partners with beep to promote contactless payment for commuters who regularly ride the country’s current available public transportation system.

beep cardholders may now purchase PHP 100, PHP 250, and PHP 500 load through PayMaya without going to physical counters. The load can be used for LRT 1, LRT 2, MRT 3, P2P buses, modern PUVs, and other transportation modes that accept beep cards as a mode of payment.

Here’s how to use the new feature:

  1. Tap treats on the PayMaya app’s homepage.
  2. Select a beep card load package.
  3. Input the beep ?card number which can be seen at the back.  Tap continue.
  4. Wait for the purchase confirmation via text message and in-app notification.

Apart from PayMaya, commuters may also reload their beep card through Smart Padala agents. Customers may go to their trusted Smart Padala agents, give the beep card account number and amount to be loaded, and pay for it. Do note that PayMaya and Smart Padala charges a convenience fee of PHP 5 and PHP 10 on top of the beep card load.

Previously, PayMaya has equipped taxi operators in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Baguio with contactless payments, and pioneered the cashless payment of Araneta Bus Port on its digital bus ticketing system.
