After the government’s announcement placing the entire Metro Manila, Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal under MECQ starting August 4, Grab will be suspending its GrabCar services beginning August 4 at midnight.
Despite the suspension of GrabCar services, Grab will continue supporting its communities, including the driver-partners, merchants, frontliners, and kababayans at home with its Safety, Support, and Services programs.
Safety
Grab will continue its GrabProtect program to ensure that their communities remain safe. With their partnership with the National Taskforce Against COVID and the BCDA, Grab will be providing free tests for its driver and delivery partners.
Support
Grab will be helping its driver-partners transition onto their delivery fleet services. They are also looking into the idea of using their driver-partners as mobility solutions to their hospital partners as a dedicated shuttle fleet for medical frontliners. Lastly, Grab will continue to provide mobility solutions to its corporate and merchant partners so they can provide essential services during the MECQ.
Grab is also looking at ways to extend the payments of driver-partners with existing loans.
Services
GrabFood and GrabMart will remain operational from 6 AM to 12 midnight, depending on the merchant partner’s availability. GrabExpress, on the other hand, will remain operational 24/7.
