Advantages of each smartphone:

Huawei Y7p

  • Larger display
  • Higher main camera resolution
  • Larger battery capacity
  • 10W charging support

Honor 20 Lite

'); }

  • Higher display resolution
  • Larger internal storage
  • Higher front camera resolution
  • Has Google services

Let’s start off with the display. The Y7p has the bigger screen, coming in at 6.39-inches, while the 20 Lite has a panel measuring at 6.21-inches. Despite being smaller, the 20 Lite has a higher resolution at FHD with a resolution of 2340 x 1080, compared to the Y7p that only has an HD+, 1560 x 720-pixel resolution. The Y7p has Punch FullView display, with a hole-punch module for a selfie camera, while the 20 Lite employs a Dewdrop FullView screen, meaning that it has a drop notch.

The Y7p has a Kirin 710F chipset, while the Honor 20 Lite has a Kirin 710 processor. There isn’t really much difference between the two chipsets; the 710F is just packaged differently from the 710. Both chipsets are capable of doing basic tasks, such as web and social media browsing, video streaming, navigation, and productivity work. The Y7p and 20 Lite both have 4GB RAM. As for storage, the 20 Lite’s 128GB storage edges out the Y7p’s 64GB offering. The devices also offer expandable storage at 512GB via micro SD.

Triple-rear cameras are equipped on both the Y7p and the 20 Lite. The Y7p has a 48MP main shooter, together with an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP snapper. The 20 Lite’s primary camera has a lower resolution at 24MP, but it pretty has much the same 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP shooter. For front shooters, the Y7p has an 8MP lens inside a hole-punch camera, while the 20 Lite has a whopping 32MP selfie shooter. Numbers aren’t everything though, so we can’t say for sure how the quality of the Y7p’s photos compares against the 20 Lite.

As for features, both the devices come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a circular rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Battery-wise, the 20 Lite comes with a 3,400mAh cell, which gets dwarfed by the Y7p’s 4,000mAh cell. The Y7p also has 10W charging support, while the 20 Lite has none. The two handsets have a micro USB port as their charging ports.

For software, the Y7p has the slightly newer EMUI 9.1, while the 20 Lite runs on the older EMUI 9.0. Despite the difference in skin versions, both of them are based on Android 9 Pie. It should also be noted that the Y7p does not come with any Google Services; instead, it has Huawei Mobile Services.

Both the Y7p and the 20 Lite are priced at PHP 9,990. If you’re into a bigger screen, a hole-punch camera module, a higher primary camera, larger battery capacity, but you might have to settle for a 64GB internal storage (don’t worry, it’s expandable!), then the Y7p is for you. However, if you’re interested in a higher display resolution, 128GB internal storage, a higher front camera resolution, and a smartphone with Google Services, then you should set your sights on the Honor 20 Lite.
