Can a 1:2 scale Tesla Cybertruck out-tug a Ford F-150 V8?

Size isn’t everything. In a move that somewhat mirrors Tesla’s viral Cybertruck-versus-Ford F-150 video from late 2019, a bunch of dudes have built a very impressive 1:2 scale version of the upcoming electric pickup and pitted it against a massive, V8-equipped 2010 F-150 XLT.

The result? Well, let’s just say it’ll leave Tesla big boss Elon Musk gushing. Watch the contest in the video below:

Okay, okay. So the mini 850Nm Cybertruck by itself couldn’t cut it. The truck needed an extra 1,500lb (680kg) of weight to beat the F-150’s 310hp and 495Nm despite having 50% more torque than its gas-guzzling competitor. Still, it’s an impressive feat—the latest of many set up to silence doubters of Musk’s vision. Prior to taking on the F-150, the vehicle not surprisingly made mincemeat of a Chevrolet Spark (133Nm) and a Polaris RZR (163Nm).

Say what you want about the Tesla Cybertruck’s unusual looks and disastrous ‘Armor Glass’ test, but there’s no denying it’s the current darling of the electric revolution—the Internet simply can’t get enough of the thing. Do you think the production version will live up to expectations when it finally comes out?
