Spotted: The new Suzuki XL7 and S-Presso units on Philippine soil

It’s almost March 2020. Do you know what that means? If you’ve been following the news, then you’re aware it’s the month Suzuki Philippines will be bringing in the XL7 subcompact SUV and S-Presso mini SUV.

While no exact date of launch has been provided by the Japanese car manufacturer, it appears the two vehicles’ arrival is imminent. Photos of XL7 and S-Presso units on board a car carrier in the Philippines sent to us by a source may indicate the company is already gearing up for an introduction.

Despite the images’ low-resolution, this is more than enough to give us a proper view of both vehicles’ bodies. The XL7, which is based on the Ertiga, looks like a more rugged version of its MPV sibling, The S-Presso unit in the photos, meanwhile, looks like a base unit on account of its black steel wheels—not surprising, considering the vehicle is rumored to start at an ultra-affordable P510,000.

All indications point towards the XL7 running on the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder K15B gasoline engine (103hp and 138Nm) as the Ertiga. The S-Presso, meanwhile, will likely run on a more modest 1.0-liter engine.

No official prices and specs yet, but it looks like we may not have to wait long to find out. Are you excited for these two new nameplates to go on sale in the local car market? Let us know in the comments.
