They say that the fear of the unknown and uncertainty can cause anxiety. When it cripples right in your mind, it makes you worry about your own welfare and future. Questions keep on popping left and right amidst a lockdown. Where would you replenish your supplies once you run out? What areas should you avoid? Where are the checkpoints located? What’s the nearest hospital in case a family member needs immediate medical attention? This pushed a group of young Xavier School alumni to build Dashboard Philippines, a collaborative online platform that helps people for their day-to-day errands.
As an interactive platform, it presents the schedule of operating establishments, donation centers, and transportation routes, and shuttle stops provided by various government agencies for frontliners in the Greater Metro Manila. Establishments include checkpoints, banks, hospitals and clinics, pharmacies, groceries, convenience stores, restaurants that accept orders for pick-up and delivery, wet market, gas stations, and remittance centers.
The website also shows the transportation routes and shuttle services for frontliners.
Apart from the said businesses, Dashboard Philippines also locates the nearest donation centers, veterinary clinics for your furry friends, and accommodations for employees who need a temporary home. It sources the data from official websites and social media pages of the businesses, established news institutions, and other contributors.
For those who need guidance on the website, there’s a chatbot on the lower-right corner of the site where they can message with. Future updates to the platform will include scaling up the map outside the metro.
