The Land Rover Defender is a vehicle that relief organizations and emergency services the world over have called upon time and time again during crises—helping people out is pretty much in the nameplate’s DNA.
Of course, the all-new model has yet to prove itself, having only been introduced in late 2019. This might be about to change, though.
The British car manufacturer has decided it’s time to bring out the big guns and is sending a fleet of all-new Defenders to help various organizations, including the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, to combat the spread of COVID-19. Look:

“As the world faces an extraordinary challenge, Land Rover is focusing efforts towards supporting our global communities in the fight against COVID-19 by providing vehicles and expertise to emergency services and organizations like our partners the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies,” the brand said in a Facebook post.
That’s quite a few units the carmaker is sending out—based on the images, at least a couple of dozen. No word yet on exactly where these Defenders will be lending a helping hand, though we reckon they’ll have no trouble taking on whatever setting authorities decide to throw at them.
