If you’re stuck at home because of the Luzon-wide enhanced quarantine period, chances are one of your biggest concerns is how to seek medical advice if the need arises. Not only are you not allowed to drive out unless it’s for an emergency, but hospitals and clinics are also currently swamped because of the COVID-19 crisis, too.
Thankfully, there are ways to address minor health issues without having to hop in a car and drive to a doctor. KonsultaMD, a telemedicine hotline run by licensed Filipino doctors, is currently offering its services to the public free of charge until April 13, 2020.
It works simply enough. Simply dial 78880 on your mobile phone or (02) 77988000 via landline, and doctors will be available on the line to provide assessment and advice. There’s even a telephone triage system that allows personnel to focus on more critical cases, and the hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“There is an overwhelming demand for the healthcare industry and we understand the difficulties both the government and private medical institutions are facing to provide the public with the assistance they need during this outbreak,” KonsultaMD operator Global Telehealth CEO Maridol Ylanan says.
“We are here to help our country by providing everyone with free access to a doctor so that they can seek medical advice without leaving their homes.”
