Motorsport, we don’t need to tell you, is on pause. One of the biggest casualties is the Isle of Man TT, canceled rather than being merely postponed until later in the year.
Its big 2020 launch was due last weekend, and this atmospheric, goosebump-inducing trailer was all ready to get everyone in the mood for some of the quickest, diciest, most heroic racing on the planet.
Alas, there will be no 2020 TT, but the trailer has still been released as a two-minute reminder of what an otherworldly event this is. Sharply edited and building to a rousing ending, it states ‘We’ll be back.’ No, you’re dabbing your eyes.
Think of this as the 2021 TT trailer a year early, then, and a little burst of excitement to remind us that when the world returns back to normal, the thrills and spills of motorsport will be waiting to greet us.
(The song, by the way, is a cover of Pixies’ “Where is my Mind?” By Telepathic Teddy Bear.)
