Pasig City offers free transport for those in need of dialysis, chemotherapy

So far, the Pasig City government has done a standup job making things easy for its constituents during the Luzon-wide enhanced quarantine period.

The local government quickly got its act together following the announcement of a public transportation ban in Metro Manila, with initiatives like the ‘mobile palengke’ (which Valenzuela City has since copied), and P3,000 financial assistance for PUV drivers. Now, Pasig City is addressing another concern: individuals with chronic disease in desperate need of transport. Look:

From now on, people looking for a ride to attend dialysis or chemotherapy appointments (or any other important checkups or treatments for chronic diseases) can reserve a tricycle by dialing 8-643-0000. Keep in mind, this is not an emergency service and rides must be booked two days in advance on a first-come-first-serve basis.

All you need to do is provide your name, contact number, pick-up point (exact address and landmark), time of checkup, destination, and proof of appointment.

Para sa mga pasyenteng nangangailangan ng transportasyon! Dialysis, chemotherapy, at iba pa,” Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto said in a Facebook announcement. “We will accommodate as many patients as we can. First-come-first-served basis po tayo.”

Send this story to anyone that may be in need of this service. Hopefully, more local governments implement a similar service during the enhanced quarantine period.
